1)      Select “Install zhiing”

a)      Zhiing application will automatically download to your device

2)      Click on ‘downloaded’ app (starts with ‘zam’ and ends in ‘.apk’)

a)      You *may* Receive the message box:

“Install Blocked / For security, your phone is set to block installation of applications not sourced in the Android Market” - options are “settings” or “cancel”

i)        Choose “settings”

ii)      Place check in “Unknown Sources”

(1)   Receive an “Attention – your phone and personal data are more vulnerable to attack by applications from unknown sources. You agree that you are solely responsible for any damage to your phone or loss of data that may result from using these applications”

iii)    Choose OK (vs. other option of “cancel”)

iv)    Hit the “back” key

(1)   The List of downloaded Apps comes back

v)      You will have to click on downloaded zhiing app again

b)      Information page is displayed on zhiing app

3)      Scroll to bottom of info page

a)      Click Install

i)        Install activity/progress bar shows

ii)      “application installed” shows

iii)    Options are Launch or Done

4)      Choose Launch

a)      Presented with zhiing preferences screen

5)      Type in screen name

6)      Type in phone #

7)      Click OK on zhiing pref. screen

a)      You *may* get a GPS Permission Warning if you do not have GPS enabled on your phone: “GPS Permission / zhiing requires that your location services are enabled so that we can send your location along in the messages. Please go into your Settings, then Security and Location, and check that Enable GPS Satellites is checked”

i)        Click OK to acknowledge the GPS warning

ii)      You will need to Enable GPS on the device (found in the main menu of the phone under “Settings…Security & location….Enable GPS satellites”

b)      A registration sms/text message will be sent to your phone

8)      Confirm Registration

a)      Open SMS

i)        Find zhiing confirmation message (there may be more than one, only need to select one)

b)      Open (one of) the confirmations messages

c)      Click the link in the confirmation message

i)        Congratulations web page comes up

9)      The application is now registered and ready for use
